 Florida State's rank rises among America's top universities
Florida State University is one of the top 50 public universities in the country, according to U.S. News and World Report's "America's Best Colleges 2009" edition. FSU tied with the University of Massachusetts-Amherst for 50th place among the top public "national" universities. In addition, FSU's overall ranking jumped 10 places to No. 102 among all universities - public and private.
 Class of 2012 is best, brightest ever
Brilliant. Impressive. Dazzling. All of the above - and more - apply to this fall's incoming Seminoles, the class of 2012. The average freshman accepted into FSU boasts a high school grade point average of 4.0, an SAT score of 1261 (in critical reading and math) or an ACT of 28. These new students are not only at the very top of their high school class, they are arguably FSU's most brilliant, impressive and dazzling freshmen to date.
 FSU Wraps-Up Successful Weekend With 3-0 Victory Over Connecticut
Three ranked opponents, three big victories to start the season. Fourth-ranked Florida State (3-0-0) continued its torrid start with a 3-0 victory over No. 12 Connecticut (1-2-0) at Jeffrey Field on the campus of Penn State University. Sanna Talonen scored twice and Lauren Switzer added another as the Seminoles evened the all-time series against the Huskies at two games apiece.

 Seminoles Win Florida State Invitational With Sweep Over Stetson
The Seminoles claimed the Florida State Invitational crown for the third straight year with a 3-0 (25-2, 26-24, 25-12) sweep over Stetson on Saturday night inside Tully Gymnasium. FSU's Nikki Baker went on a 17-serve streak to start off the first set, a career high for the junior setter. FSU is now off to a 3-0 to start in 2008, already an improvement over last season when the team started at 2-1.
 While Most Of The College Football World Is Playing, FSU Continues Practice
The first Saturday of the college football season seemed just like any other day of the week for the Seminole football team. With an open date today, FSU was out on the practice field shifting its focus towards its September 6th opener versus Western Carolina (1-0). The squad practiced for 15 periods in shells. The first six periods were spent working on special teams and the second half of practice saw both units working versus scout teams. Following conditioning, the team ate lunch and was finished for the day.
 FSU And TDC Create Affordable Football Weekends
Seminole fans in such places as Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa and Pensacola are thinking twice about traveling to the Tallahassee area for football weekends. Fuel prices and other costs are on their minds. But the Leon County Tourist Development Council (LCTDC) and Florida State University have gotten together to say, "Help is on the way." Ticket packages start at just $19.
