 Seminoles' Douglas Selected In First Round Of 2009 NBA Draft
Toney Douglas, who led the Florida State men's basketball team to the 2009 NCAA Tournament and to the championship game of the 2009 ACC Tournament, was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 29th pick in the first round of the NBA Draft. He is the ninth Seminole basketball player in school history to be selected in the first round of the NBA Draft. The pick by the Lakers was traded a short time later to the New York Knicks for a future draft selection and cash considerations.
 Tyler Holt To Play For Team USA
Florida State's Tyler Holt will be donning the Red, White and Blue this summer as he was selected to play for Team USA. Holt is one of five outfielders on the 22-player roster and one of three players representing the Atlantic Coast Conference (Yasmani Grandal, Miami; Brad Miller, Clemson). The sophomore centerfielder becomes the first Seminole to play for USA Baseball since Shane Robinson in 2005.

FSU offensive linemen Rodney Hudson and Ryan McMahon both earn ACC team honors as Hudson is also named a Preseason Third-Team All-American.

 Jacinta Monroe Named to 12-Member 2009 Women's World University Games Team
Monroe and her teammates will continue training in Colorado Springs, Colo. until June 25 before heading to Belgrade, Serbia.
